Blackmagic Design Releases DaVinci Resolve and Video Assist Updates

DaVinci Resolve 18.6.4 Released

This week Blackmagic Design released 18.6.4 adds transcription control to the media bins. The update allows you to add transcriptions to the content in the bin and search for key works from the audio. This means, you no longer have to watch every clip to get to a clip that has an impactful quote – you just search for the text to get the clip that has that content. (Read as: No more watching tons of footage to find one single clip…)

Video Assist 3.14 Released

This update is solely for those that are using a Panasonic Lumix G9II with their video assist. The update adds support for Blackmagic RAW recording from the G9II on the 5″ and 7″ 12G HDR Video Assist models. The update allows you to bake in the camera’s settings in the metadata so you have access to the white balance and exposure settings when you use DaVinci Resolve.
